Over the years Beyond Blue has run campaigns to change behaviour and reduce stigma around mental health in the community.
We're currently working on a campaign for anxiety, moving into the next phase of the campaign that was launched in 2017.
If you experience feelings of worry, anxiety or fear that are strong enough to interfere with your daily activities and make it hard to cope with everyday life, we would like to understand in greater detail your journey from the onset of symptoms to help seeking and ongoing management.
We’re also interested in your thoughts about how anxiety is perceived and understood by others.
Your input into this survey will give the campaign team a deeper understanding of personal experiences of anxiety, different coping strategies and help seeking journeys.
The survey will take around 30 minutes to complete, and your responses are confidential.
We understand that reflecting on your mental health can be hard, and even trigger anxiety sometimes – so please consider whether now is a good time for you to be participating in this survey. And remember our Support Service is available 24 hours – 1300 22 4636.
The survey will remain open until Sunday 20 May 2018.
For many years, Beyond Blue has been working hard to promote understanding and support for the two million Australians each year who experience anxiety conditions. And while we have seen improvements, we understand there is still much more work to be done.
To create this change, Beyond Blue launched our ‘Know when anxiety is talking’ campaign in October 2017. The campaign was seen by over 1 in 4 people in Australia and our research shows it worked well in terms of promoting information seeking behaviour and talking about anxiety.
The campaign was informed by a survey we conducted with blueVoices members early in 2017 to understand your general experiences of anxiety, and what kinds of strategies you use to manage your anxiety on a regular basis. Thank you to all who participated, the insights were valuable throughout campaign development.
The campaign is focused on increasing the public’s understanding of anxiety and encouraging help seeking, and is one element of a broader strategy to further integrate anxiety messaging throughout Beyond Blue programs, services and communications.
The anxiety survey is now closed. If you have any queries about this survey or the campaign please contact the blueVoices team on 03 9810 6100 or via email
