Activity Detail

The Australia and New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) is a joint initiative of Australian and New Zealand Police Commissioners (ANZPAA’s Board).

ANZPAA is currently developing a Mental Health Guide to assist police officers when responding to members of the public experiencing poor mental health or a mental health crisis.

The mental health guide is expected to include content such as:

  • behavioural indicators
  • response, engagement and communication strategies

How Blue Voices can help

It's important the mental health guide takes into account the experience of people who have had interactions with police when they’ve been experiencing poor mental health. This experience can relate to you or someone you care for.

To make sure the guide is balanced ANZPAA are looking for Blue Voices members to share their experience.

This feedback can be written or through an interview with ANZPAA, either face to face or over the phone. You are welcome to have a friend or family member join you for support during the interview as well.

Interviews with ANZPAA have now closed. If you would like more information on this project please contact the Blue Voices team on 03 9810 6100 or via email.
