    Bring Me Closer

    I keep my faith
    Cause it's all I have
    And there is this spark
    But I see no flame

    I lose myself
    In this big black night
    And I need you now
    Just like I always did

    I keep this faith
    Cause it's all I have
    And there was this spark
    But I see no flame

    Edison's Medicine

I thought I knew which way to go
    But I don’t, I don’t
    Can’t pretend to, anymore

I thought I had this under control
Was a bad joke, such a sad joke
    I’m not laughing, anymore

I thought I was living with your ghost.
But now I know only absence of light,
    Remains of shadow, so.

    Where did the time go?
    Where did it go?
    Not measured in days.

It was something we could never own
So it could not be saved.

    It’s not your fault.
    People will die,
    But you have to try
    To let...

    It’s not my fault.
    People have died
    But I have to try
    to let...

I seem to be having trouble communicating here this morning....not finishing posts before they are "sent". was referring to the Beatles classic Eleanor Rigby which I think depicts the futility of life.....doncha think Walrus?

Dear Moon plus all music lovers here~

I guess it is how you look at it, it could go either way, futility or hope, I think either is perfectly valid. I've used that precise song in an attempt to be encouraging.

My post to Unit1 of 24 May in

    https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/suicidal-thoughts-and-self-harm/why-it-becomes-a-real-option

is one example. Dunno if it worked there but it has other times.

While we are talking Beatles I also like "The Fool On The Hill" from the MMT as well, sometimes when alone I think on it.

BTW if you are still needing a clue in your other thread does Kaminsky help?

The Beatles - Here Comes The Sun

Although, it's a song about Winter turning to Spring, but the lyrics really helps remind me that everything will be alright, particularly this lyric here:

Here comes the sun do, do, do
    Here comes the sun
And I say it's all right

Sometimes it feels kinda silly to have this thought, and it may be hard for others to relate to. But I'm happy to live with it, and continue living my life knowing whatever I do, even when times are good or bad, everything will be alright. Everything will be alright, like the sun rising up everyday.

    Jt

Croix I like that version of the song.

this may sound cliched but I like The Impossible Dream .

it has been sung by many famous singers.

    I find it very moving,

No matter how hard I try.
Look to the sky, and I ask God why.

Seems like my dreams are drowned out by screams,
    no answer to my questions.

    Feels like I'm pressed.
    Why do I stress?
    It's like I'm bein' tested.

Seems like my prayers vanished to thin air,
    please answer my questions.

    "Here's to you Mrs Robinson"

Simon & Garfunkel's 1967 theme to The Graduate. I find it emphasizes the idea of forgiveness, a comfort at times, even if the religious element is ignored.

    Hello

Music is so great at expressing how you feel.

    Or changing your moods.

    Or helping you remember.

I make an uplifting songs only playlist that I can take anywhere and listen to anytime.

It's got some really cheesy stuff in it.

But don't knock it - sometimes what really helps is some Taylor Swift and Kylie.

Here are three great songs from my list:

Everything is everything - Lauren Hill.

Eyes on the Prize - Mavis Staples

Giant Woman - from the Steven Universe animation.

    Thanks.

Logic ft. Alessia Cara, Khalid - 1-800-273-8255 (Live At The MTV VMAs)

For those of you that are unfamiliar with that 1800 number is is the USA's version of the Lifeline Crisis number, the same thing as dialing 131114 here in Australia.

an oldie I've been listening to a lot lifted up my spirit recently. When I first listened to this song I thought it was about midnight comfort food instead it was a train song lol😂
