    hello,

i am a little bit confused because i hate myself. i think i am scum and that the community i live in would've been a better place if i had not have been born. and not to get all edgy or anything, but i do sometimes ideate suicide (like, i think about it but i'm completely safe, dw) and think i'm better off dead because i'm stupid and embarrassing and useless and whatever. but i had a good childhood? granted i can't remember much of it, but the memories i have of it are all positive. why would i hate myself? is it just cause i've let the self critical voice living in my head take over? how do i stop it? i just want to be able to think of myself as someone worthy of breathing. should i just get therapy? lol

    thanks :)

We hope that you can get some support here, the community will be here to listen and chat with you. We are sorry to hear you are having suicidal thoughts, but glad to hear that you are safe. Hi waluiginose,

    Wellcome to our forums!

Im sorry that you are feeling this way.

Please tell your self positive things about yourself every day……. It really is possible to change your mind set to be positive.

Im sure that you are a great person.

Have your thought about talking to your gp about the way you are feeling? You could do a mental health plan together this will enable you to see a psychologist.

    Hey waluiginose,

I can relate to some of things you describe here, definitely that voice in your head that's telling you, you're no good. I find the more energy I give it, the worse it can get. But retraining our thought patterns can be really helpful. Actively replacing those negative thoughts with something positive - it creates new pathways in the brain for our thought patterns to travel in. The more we do it, the stronger they get.

Know that you are worthy, loved and a valued person in this world. Learning to love ourselves is often the hardest step but it gets easier with each step we take.

A chat with a psychologist could be a helpful step, so you can safely explore your thoughts with someone who can offer practical support.
