If you have nothing left to look forward to, have no immediate family, have only acquaintances no friends, a job that tells you that you are stupid and replaceable, and the most important things in your life have passed on, then is it even worth being here and becoming a burden on society.

Thanks for your responses, i have read them all.

I haven't changed my thoughts and wont, I know where i am going and what i am doing. Unfortunately after too many years of this, its just too much crap, i have had enough, and talking doesn't help, medication is usless, tried all that. And yes i am thinking of tomorrow, and thats the problem, i know the past doesn't predict the future but when is enough enough

    Hi Nothing_123

Reading your post, it sounds like things have gotten really overwhelming and it’s becoming hard to manage these feelings by yourself. You said that talking doesn’t help- since you’ve been willing to share your feelings here, we’d really like you to try talking to us about this, at least for a little while, to offer some support.

If things are feeling too much tonight, please give us a ring. So we can help to keep your safe. There are also a few other phone and web services that could be of help:

    Lifeline 13 11 14
    Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467
    beyondblue Support Service 1300 22 4636
    Kids Helpline (for ages between 5 and 25) 1800 551 800

If, however, you feel unable to keep yourself from acting on your thoughts about suicide this is an emergency and you need to call 000 (triple zero).

    Hi 123

You may feel like you have no one you know, did you know there are so many people that are also alone and you could bring a smile to by maybe looking at volunteering?

Do you ever stop to think what is behind the struggles you face? The "too many years" suggests you have endured so far - what was different for you before this onset and what is preventing you from breaking free - medical, relationship, financial? Even a "burden on society" can offer hope to others and find value within themselves.
I'm grateful you made the effort to speak up - when is enough too much? What pieces are missing for you to carry on? It's not my intention to change your thoughts but merely pose the questions for your consideration and I hope you can delve a little deeper before coming to a conclusion.

Hello Nothing, I'm really sorry to read what you have told us, and no we can't change the past but we can learn from it, and again, no we can't predict the future and even if we could, is that what we want to happen, sometimes of course, but then we may be more disappointed if it didn't go the way we had wished.

Please remember that the past may not have been any fault of yours, circumstances beyond reproach may have been taken out of our hands, so we had no control, even though we're trying our almighty to change the situation.

Goodness me, how many times I have felt like you are feeling when I was suffering from depression, but every now and then, something, even a small fraction kept me going.

    Take care, my friend.

    Geoff.
