    Hey all,

38-yo male here. Really running the gamut at the moment with depression and anxiety, and wanted to thank all of you for the stories you’ve shared.

I’ve been reading on and off the past few weeks in my worst moments, and it has been helpful knowing there are others out there who feel the same way I do.

I might not be well at the moment, but I am doing my best. I hope you all stay well, and maybe one day I’ll be on my feet and able to offer support and advice as well.

    Best,

    Hamish

    Thanks, Tony. I will.

I’d say not being 100% is an understatement, but I decided when I joined that I was going to refrain from getting too deep into my issues — I do have support for that — and instead try to take inspiration from other members, and do what I can to offer support. My issues won’t magically go away by posting about them. In fact, I fear it could keep me stuck thinking about them.

I’m not sure if all that makes sense. I guess I just want to be... as positive as I can be, in the hope that it crushes and dissipates the awfulness inside me.

    Dear Hamish,

I would like to say welcome as well.

It's so good to have you here, and it's great that you've found some comfort or support in reading other stories and maybe that has helped you feel less alone.

However you want to use the forums is totally ok.

I understand your thoughts about being positive. There can also be release in voicing your worries and laying some of your burdens down amongst others who understand.

Do whatever feels right for you.

    You are so welcome here.

    Thank you, birdy.

There have definitely been some dark thoughts lately, but I’m doing everything in my power to overcome them. I know that thoughts and actions are two different things, and so far I’ve managed to make it to the end of each day. I plan to continue this, wherever it leads.
