Burnout is commonly defined as a state of emotional, physical and mental exhaustion and is often triggered by prolonged stress.
It can leave us feeling exhausted, feeling negative about (or less connected to) the work we do, and reduces personal efficacy (so you feel like you’re achieving less than normal).
Burnout is a common and serious issue, with estimates suggesting more than half of Australians have experienced it.
In Australia, there have been significant improvements to make workplaces better for the mental health of staff, but there is more work to be done.
Similarly, making changes in your personal life can reduce your risk of burnout and protect your mental health.
In the webinar, we’ll cover
• What causes burnout in our personal and professional lives?
• How to recognise the signs of burnout?
• What can we do for ourselves to reduce our risk or recover from burnout?
• What can workplaces and society do to reduce risk of burnout?
• Available resources and supports.
