Hello Hanna, Grandy, Katy, Dools,
I guess that as people aren't allowed to meet up with people from outside their home unit (apart from bubble buddies) that may be why you are not getting a response at the moment... though I agree it would be nice if they at least said no.
It's wonderful to hear that you have finally found a social worker to help you with things...
Hanna I'm probably not the best person to ask about beating boredom... I don't struggle with loneliness & I really don't get bored... I do understand that it is a common problem for many people & has been made worse with lockdown... but I'm never on top of all the things I need to do or want to do... lacking motivation due to low mood is my main problem...
I really don't know what might help you... gardening (even if just in pots)... reading, jigsaws, studying a topic that interests you (even if it's not an actual class, but rather just seeing what info you can find on line or from texts you can get from the library)... I know with your hands & eyes you are probably limited with what craft projects you could do... umm playing computer games like mahjong, minesweeper, tetris & keep trying to beat your best times... from memory you used to write (was it for radio?)... perhaps you could try writing again...
One thing I think you would be good at & it would keep you busy is perhaps advocating... a lot of people needing welfare/housing etc don't have your literacy, writing skills... perhaps you could help local groups with putting submissions or you could make submissions yourself... it is something you could do from home & you have lived experience of how hard it is to find the support you need... giving this info to welfare/charities/government & pointing out the short comings you found with what they do could only be useful... once lockdown ends you could even meet up with whatever local groups you had been helping...
Hugs
