Working with young people

Childhood and youth is a crucial time for growing healthy minds. All young people need care and support to learn, while some require additional help to reach their full potential.

Professionals who work with young people in the health and community sector can play an important role in helping young people deal with mental health concerns and build their wellbeing and resilience.

Beyond Blue aims to support and advise professionals who work with young people in the health and community sector and developed a range of resources that could be used such as; The BRAVE Program - an interactive, online program that provides ways for young people to better cope with their worries and the Check-in mobile app for young people to check-in on friends that might be struggling and to help start a conversation.

Beyond Blue has also developed a range of programs for use in early childhood, primary and secondary schools, and tertiary settings. These programs emphasise proven methods, tools and support to help schools work with parents and carers, health services and the wider community, to nurture happy, balanced kids.
