Workplace Giving - Beyond Blue

We all deal with tough times, but the reality is that too many people with a mental health condition see no way out. Eight people in Australia take their own lives each day. A further three million people live with anxiety, depression or both.

Last year more than 200,000 people contacted the Beyond Blue support service. And it’s thanks to the generosity of the community that we can keep it running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Workplace giving is a simple and cost-effective way to make a difference.

When an organisation nominates us as a charity partner, employees can specify an amount they’d like to donate from each pay.

Say you want to give $10 from each pay. This actually equates to a pre-tax amount of about $6.40. While we receive the full $10, it only costs you $6.40. Ask your employer to match your donation and that $10 becomes $20. Sacrificing a couple of coffees a week might not sound like much, but when your colleagues do the same, things really start to add up.

Organisations with a workplace giving program see higher levels of employee satisfaction and engagement. Employees feel the organisation’s values tie in with their own.

The Beyond Blue support service saves lives. When people feel there is nowhere else to turn, our trained mental health professionals are there to listen and provide practical advice and support.

Your contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a difference.
