Building resilience in children aged 0–12: A practice guide

Beyond Blue's Building resilience in children aged 0–12: A practice guide, assists practitioners to promote children’s resilience and highlights the best ways to help children build resilience through everyday strategies and structured interventions. It aims to create a shared understanding of children's resilience and raise community awareness about it more broadly. Investing in children’s resilience will go a long way to preventing mental health conditions later in life.

This guide is for practitioners working across a broad range of settings including early childhood education and care settings, primary schools, welfare and community-based health and mental health settings.

Beyond Blue developed this guide as part of the Children's Resilience Research Project in response to The National Mental Health Commission's review of mental health programs and services which identified a critical gap in prevention and early intervention resources, supports and services for children from birth to 12 years.
